His and Her's Barber School
We offer a training program that provides each student with the essential skills needed to be a professional in the barber industry.

His and Hers Barber School was established May 1999. The school started training students in 2001, under the leadership of Elaine Sappington. Then in September 2014, the school appointed new officers/owners. Under new management, His and Her Barber School continues to maintain a commitment to training men and women in the expanding field of barbering.

Beginner
This course is for complete beginners or hairdressers who want to train as a barber.
Job Ready Beginner
This course is for complete beginners or hairdressers who want to train as a barber as well as learn advance skills.
Advanced
Advanced course for existing barbers that have already completed the beginner’s course.

The mission of His and Hers Barber School is to design a training program that provides each student with the essential skills needed to be a professional in the barber industry. Our teachers train, guide and mentor the students so they can successfully graduate.
Also, to ensure that each student has classroom training that provides a comprehensive study in the theory of barbering that will assist the student in successfully passing the state examination administered by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
And, we provide practical training for each student to become a skilled barber and a successful entrepreneur; and define their style so they can make a name for themselves in the hair care industry.

Initial Classroom Training
Classroom instruction covering general theory and practical application.
Hair Styling and Treatment
Instruction in a broad variety of styling techniques. Also, addressing all aspects of coloring for men’s hair and facial hair.
Shop Management
Includes sanitation and interpersonal relations.
Shaving and Skin care
Covers the art of and techniques for shaving men’s hair and facial hair. Also, skin care for men. It focuses on face, neck and scalp.
Manicures
Coverage of nail technology theory and application for men’s manicures.
